Good Energy offers a range of green business energy tariffs, all backed by 100% renewable electricity. Their business energy plans include:
Ideal for businesses seeking price stability and budget certainty, these tariffs lock-in unit rates and standing charges for a specified period, shielding you from market fluctuations.
Designed for large business energy customers with significant energy demands, these tariffs align with day-ahead market prices, offering flexibility and potential cost optimisation while maintaining a commitment to renewable energy.
For businesses with half-hourly metering, this service matches your energy consumption with renewable generation every 30 minutes, providing real-time transparency and taking advantage of License Exempt Supply rules.
Our business energy team has reviewed Good Energy’s Terms and Conditions and summarised key contract features:
Good Energy offers flexible payment options to suit your business needs, including direct debit, which is often the preferred or required method for some small business energy tariffs. This ensures efficient and timely payments, helping businesses manage cash flow effectively.
As your contract term ends, Good Energy will notify you about available renewal options, allowing you to choose a new plan that suits your needs. If no new agreement is reached, your account may move to standard out-of-contract rates, which are typically higher than contracted rates.
Good Energy will perform credit checks when you initiate or renew a business energy contract. Depending on the assessment, a security deposit may be required. They may also determine which payment method you must use based on the outcome of the credit assessment.
Good Energy provides and maintains a range of metering solutions, including smart meters and half-hourly meters, to ensure accurate billing and facilitate business energy monitoring. These tools enable businesses to track their energy usage in detail.
Good Energy issues bills at least every quarter, based on actual or estimated meter readings. Businesses with a smart meter receive monthly bills, giving a more regular view of energy costs and consumption. If you are not paying by direct debit, payment is due within 14 days of the bill date. For those paying by direct debit, the amount is reviewed regularly to keep it in line with estimated annual consumption, with at least 10 working days’ notice given before any changes are made.
Good Energy is one of the few UK suppliers that goes beyond simply labelling electricity as green.
Rather than relying solely on Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin, they hold direct contracts with over 3,000 independent UK renewable generators and match customer demand with renewable generation every half hour of the day.
For businesses wanting to do more than just switch tariff, Good Energy offers a wider set of services:
Good Energy sources electricity from a network of renewable generators across the UK, including wind, solar, hydro, and biogas projects, and supplies it directly to businesses on 100% renewable tariffs.
Good Energy supports businesses in generating their own power through on-site solutions, including commercial solar panels and small-scale wind farms. Their experts can advise on the cost of installing commercial solar panels and integrating generation with the grid to export surplus power.
Good Energy enables businesses to procure renewable energy directly through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), or to sell excess on-site generation via a corporate PPA.
For businesses generating their own renewable energy, Good Energy offers solutions to sell REGOs, providing an additional revenue stream. Selling REGO certificates is a practical way to maximise returns from renewable investment.
Good Energy supports businesses in actively contributing to decentralised renewable energy, where power is generated at or near the point of use rather than drawn entirely from a centralised grid. This model helps businesses reduce their carbon footprint and supports the UK’s broader push to decarbonise the national grid.
Good Energy has an outstanding Trustpilot score of 4.8, making it one of the best business energy suppliers. Here’s a summary of what verified business customers of Good Energy are saying about their service.
Good Energy publishes an annual fuel mix disclosure showing how the electricity supplied to business customers is generated. Unlike most suppliers, Good Energy’s fuel mix is 100% renewable.
| Fuel Mix | Good Energy Fuel Mix |
