In this section, we’ll summarise the business energy tariffs offered by Yü Energy.
The Yü Energy Fixed Price Plan offers businesses a set unit rate for electricity or gas for an agreed contract term. This provides protection from market price rises and helps companies plan energy spending with greater certainty.
Fixed tariffs from Yü Energy are designed to help reduce costs compared with variable pricing. Bills will still reflect actual usage each month, but the unit rate stays the same throughout the contract.
Yü Energy’s Online Business Energy Tariff gives companies access to their most competitive fixed rates when arranging a contract digitally. It allows businesses to lock in energy prices and manage their plan entirely online.
This tariff is aimed at cost-conscious organisations that want the reassurance of a fixed unit rate together with the convenience of online account management.
The Freedom Business Energy Tariff offers flexible pricing for companies that want to avoid long-term commitments. Rates move in line with the wholesale electricity market, giving the option to switch or change contract if prices fall or your needs evolve.
There are no exit fees on this tariff, so businesses can change suppliers or upgrade at any time without penalty. It suits organisations that value flexibility over the price certainty of a fixed contract.
Pure Green from Yü Energy provides businesses with 100 % renewable electricity and carbon-neutral gas. It is designed for organisations looking to reduce emissions and demonstrate stronger environmental performance.
Electricity comes with REGOs that verify renewable generation, while gas emissions are fully offset through recognised schemes. The tariff can be taken as a fixed contract over one to three years, giving price stability along with greener credentials.
Our business energy experts have reviewed the Yü Energy Business Terms and Conditions to highlight the key elements of the contract that small businesses should be aware of.
Invoices are issued electronically and must be paid within 7 days, typically by Direct Debit. If Direct Debit is cancelled or unsuccessful, Yü Energy may charge administration fees, request a security deposit, and move customers to a different payment plan or pricing structure until the account is brought up to date.
Yü Energy will notify business customers before their fixed term ends. Non-micro businesses receive a notice explaining the rates that will apply if the contract continues past the current term. Micro business energy customers receive a notice at least 60 days before expiry, setting out the Freedom Rate that would apply if no new agreement is arranged.
Yü Energy reserves the right to conduct credit checks at any time to ensure customers meet payment obligations. Failure to comply with these credit requirements may result in switching to a more expensive variable rate plan. In such cases, they may also cancel your contract, require a different payment method, request a security deposit, or increase your prices.
You can switch business energy supplier at the end of your contract. Yü Energy may object to the switch if there is an overdue balance or if the transfer is attempted before the contract term has finished. Once the contract has ended, you are free to switch energy supplier at any time as long as your account is up to date.
Yü Energy must be able to access the meter for reading, maintenance and safety checks. If readings are not provided regularly, bills may be based on estimates until an accurate reading is received.
Yü Energy has a Trustpilot score of 3.8, based entirely on feedback from business customers. Below is a summary of common themes in recent reviews.
Pros for business:
Cons for business:
Alongside electricity supply, Yü Energy provides several added services designed to help businesses manage their utilities more efficiently. These options give organisations greater control over their energy and support day-to-day operations.
Yü Energy handles new business gas connections and new business electricity connections. This is useful when moving into new premises or expanding a site. They manage the full setup process, including registration, meter installation and arranging the start of supply so a business can become operational quickly.
Yü Energy is also a water retailer for business customers. This means companies can set up water contracts through the same provider that manages their energy. Having electricity, gas and water with one supplier can simplify utility management and make billing more straightforward, particularly for multi-site businesses.
Yü Energy supports the installation and management of smart and advanced meters for business gas and electricity supplies. Smart meters provide automatic readings and help avoid estimated bills. They also give clearer visibility of consumption patterns by providing real-time data for energy management systems.
Yü Energy publishes a yearly fuel mix disclosure that shows how the electricity supplied to business customers is generated.
