Small business energy customers can easily manage their accounts through SmartestEnergy Business customer portal, which allows you to view and pay bills, submit meter readings, and review your energy use. See below for the login details for large business energy users.

Businesses can contact SmartestEnergy via the online contact form for support with existing accounts, billing queries, contract questions, or general service enquiries, with requests directed to the appropriate team for response.

SmartestEnergy Business offers several payment options depending on the tariff selected, including Direct Debit, budget plans, and prepayment for SmartPay customers. Invoices are typically issued on a regular billing cycle, with payment terms set out in the contract. Where payments are missed or accounts fall into arrears, SmartestEnergy Business may apply additional charges, revise payment terms, or request advance payments.

Fixed-term contracts run for the agreed duration stated at the point of sale. Towards the end of the contract, SmartestEnergy Business contacts customers to outline renewal options. If no new agreement is put in place, accounts may move onto out-of-contract or deemed rates, depending on the meter type and account status.

SmartestEnergy business may carry out credit assessments before a contract is agreed and during the life of the contract. Where credit requirements are not met, the supplier may request alternative payment arrangements, advance payments, or move the account onto different pricing until payment risk is resolved. SmartPay tariffs are available without credit checks or security deposits.

Businesses can switch business energy supplier at the end of their fixed term or during an agreed renewal window. SmartestEnergy Business may object to a transfer where there is an outstanding balance or where the switch would breach contract terms. Customers on deemed rates are generally able to switch at any time, provided all charges incurred to date are settled.

Customers are required to allow reasonable access to energy meters for readings, inspections, maintenance, or replacement where necessary. Where actual readings are unavailable, SmartestEnergy Business may issue estimated bills until accurate data is received. Smart meters may be installed where appropriate, unless suitable metering is already in place or the customer objects.

SmartestEnergy Business provides access to a suite of online reporting and management tools designed to give greater visibility over energy usage, costs, and market exposure. These tools are typically used by larger organisations or portfolio-managed customers, and include:

Together, these tools support detailed consumption analysis, market tracking, billing transparency, and contract management.

SmartestEnergy Business also supports generators and large energy users through Corporate Power Purchase Agreements. These arrangements provide a route to market for renewable generators while allowing businesses to secure long term electricity supply directly from generation assets.

Options include fixed PPAs, flexible PPAs, Contracts for Difference (CfD) PPAs, and corporate PPAs structured to suit different risk and pricing preferences.

SmartestEnergy Business runs a tree planting scheme in partnership with Ecologi, linked specifically to its renewable electricity products. Under the scheme, SmartestEnergy Business funds the planting of 10 trees for every SmartFix Renewable product purchased, whether by new customers or those renewing an existing contract.

The scheme supports global reforestation projects, with customers able to track the number of trees funded through an online impact dashboard. Businesses participating in the scheme also receive a tree planting certificate confirming their involvement.
