Maxen Power tariffs

In this section, we summarise the business energy tariffs offered by Maxen Power.

fixed

Fixed business energy contracts

Maxen Power offers fixed term business electricity and gas contracts, allowing businesses to lock in agreed unit rates for the length of their contract.

This can provide greater certainty over energy costs and help with budgeting, while bills continue to reflect actual energy usage.

Flexible tariff

Bespoke business energy contracts

Businesses can request a personalised quotation by providing details such as their current supplier, estimated energy consumption and contract end date.

Maxen Power states that it tailors its tariffs to suit each customer’s individual energy requirements rather than offering one-size-fits-all products.

Deemed tariff

Deemed business energy tariffs

If a business occupies premises without agreeing a supply contract, or continues using energy after a contract has ended without arranging a new one, it may be placed on Maxen Power’s deemed contract tariff.

Deemed rates are typically more expensive than contracted rates, so businesses are encouraged to agree to a fixed-term contract as soon as possible.

Maxen Power contract features

Our business energy experts have reviewed the terms and conditions for Maxen Power to highlight the key contract features businesses should be aware of before entering into an agreement.

Payment methods

Payment methods

Maxen Power accepts payment by Direct Debit and may also agree to alternative payment methods in some circumstances. Customers must pay invoices by the due date.

Where payments are more than 10 days overdue, Maxen Power may require monthly payments in advance based on estimated consumption, request a security deposit, or refer outstanding debts to a credit reference or debt collection agency.

End of contract

Termination notice and fees

Fixed-term contracts continue until the agreed end date. Customers wishing to end their contract at the end of the fixed term must give at least 30 days’ notice before the contract expires. If a customer leaves a fixed-term contract early, early termination fees may apply.

Credit Check

Credit checks

Maxen Power carries out a credit check before a new contract becomes active. Where the required credit criteria are not met, the contract may not proceed or may require alternative payment arrangements or a security deposit.

Switch business energy

Switching suppliers

Businesses can switch suppliers when their contract ends, provided they follow the notice requirements set out in their agreement.

Maxen Power’s terms also state that a transfer to another supplier may be delayed where a business energy objection is raised in line with industry rules or where other contractual conditions have not been met.

Meter access

Meter access and meter readings

Customers are responsible for providing regular meter readings.

Maxen Power also requires reasonable access to meters for installation, inspections, maintenance, replacements and meter readings. Where accurate readings are unavailable, Maxen may issue estimated bills, which will be adjusted once actual meter readings are received.

Maxen Power customer reviews

Maxen Power has an Excellent score of 4.5 on Trustpilot, based on reviews from business customers. The points below summarise some of the common themes mentioned in customer feedback.

  • Many businesses praise Maxen Power’s customer service, highlighting friendly, knowledgeable and responsive account managers.
  • Reviewers frequently mention a straightforward switching process, with clear communication throughout the onboarding stage.
  • Customers often comment on competitive pricing and good value, particularly when renewing or taking out fixed-term business energy contracts.

  • Some businesses say they would like greater flexibility when discussing contract renewals or tariff options.

Maxen Power additional services

Alongside business electricity and gas contracts, Maxen Power provides several services to help customers manage their accounts and monitor their energy usage.

Smart Metering

Smart meter installations

Maxen Power offers smart energy meter installations for eligible business customers. Smart meters automatically send meter readings, helping to improve billing accuracy and remove the need for manual readings. The company also states that smart meters can help businesses monitor their energy consumption more effectively and identify opportunities to reduce usage.

meter reading

Online meter reading submission

Businesses can submit electricity and gas meter readings through Maxen Power’s online form or by email. Customers can also upload photographs of their meter readings through the online form. Providing regular meter readings helps ensure bills are based on actual consumption rather than estimates.

Energy Monitoring

Consumption data requests

Businesses with smart meters can request detailed business energy consumption data from Maxen Power at no additional cost. The supplier states that this information can help customers better understand their usage patterns and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
