Fixed-rate tariffs
Designed for businesses that want cost certainty, fixed-rate contracts secure unit rates and business electricity standing charges for the full contract term. This helps protect against wholesale market volatility and makes budgeting easier.
Variable tariff
Variable tariffs apply when a fixed contract expires without renewal. Prices can rise or fall with the market, and businesses are typically free to leave with 30 days notice. Any changes to rates are communicated in advance.
Deemed rates
If a business moves into a site supplied by United Gas & Power without signing a business energy contract, deemed rates will apply. These are often significantly higher, so switching to a tailored plan is strongly recommended.
Renewable electricity tariffs
United Gas & Power offers an optional 100% renewable electricity product, supported by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGOs). Businesses choosing this option can demonstrate environmental responsibility.

Payment methods
United Gas & Power expects most customers to pay by Direct Debit. Other methods, such as BACS or card payments, may be accepted, but customers must include the correct account reference or invoice number to ensure payments are processed without delay. Customers on fixed contracts are typically required to keep a Direct Debit in place for the duration of the agreement.
End of contract
For non-micro businesses, United Gas & Power issues a Statement of Renewal Terms at least 60 days before the contract ends. If no new agreement is arranged, customers are moved to the standard-variable tariff. Micro businesses are not required to give notice to terminate and can switch suppliers freely once their contract ends.
Credit checks
United Gas & Power may carry out credit checks before or during the contract term. If credit status is insufficient or payment issues arise, they may request a security deposit or advance payment. These steps are more likely for new businesses or higher-risk customers.
Termination and early exit fees
If a business leaves its fixed contract early or breaches terms, United Gas & Power may apply a termination fee based on forecasted usage for the remainder of the contract. This does not apply to deemed or out-of-contract micro business sites.
Meter access
